Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator an efficient and safe place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major analysis of operators' working conditions. The most important objective is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important info, so as to keep the operator working as effectively as possible.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, overall noise levels and vibration levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all individually adjustable in order to maintain an optimum working position. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers which are offered for the horn, window washers, windscreen wipers and gear changing.
To guarantee a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, recirculation and defrosting. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all within easy reach. Basic instrumentation includes: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Moreover, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is among the key options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any faults that happen and their current values.
