When it comes to the warehousing and manufacturing industries, the lift truck application all over the world has continued to grow. The forklift is a motorized truck made particularly for lifting and moving objects. The equipment has slowly changed and these days there are numerous modern designs for lifting and moving items. Over the past decades, the machinery has significantly grown and the designs have changed so there are a variety of trucks and a lot of modern designs to meet every specific application. Loads are capable of lifting and reaching to greater heights than ever before.

The forklift is available in a wide array of power types such as gas powered, diesel, electric, diesel and LP or liquid propane models. The load capacities of these units range significantly because there are numerous manufacturers building and designing them. For example, several units can reach a height of more than 3000 mm or more than 10,000 kg.

The truck's frame is the base of the power source and is the place where the other features are attached. These various features consist of the counterweight, an overhead guard and mast and axles. On the rear side there is a counterweight connected to the truck. This counterweight counterbalances the cargo that is being lifted so as to keep the equipment stable.

The machines movements are dictated by the operator who sits in the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof designed to protect the operator from falling things. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the frame and the mast. These tilts pivot the mast in order to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly that lowers and raises the cargo with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

Lots of warehouses and businesses make use of lift trucks everyday to lift and transport cargo and materials. These days, there are a lot of different new and used forklifts offered in the market at competitive prices. Those who rely on occasional lifting and transportation could use rental forklifts as they are available also.
