Tire Types
Generally, cushion tires are solid tires which have no tread pattern. They are mainly designed to be used on solid and smooth surfaces, usually indoors. There are tread patterns available however, that are more suitable for various surface environments. The cushion tires are popular on smooth warehouse floors and in similar applications.

Pneumatic tires on the other hand will need air and are made specifically for uneven ground and loose surfaces. The pneumatic tire provides a higher ground clearance over solid tires. This raises the forklift's center of gravity and greatly lessens its rated lift capacity. More often than not, pneumatic tires are used in rough terrain surroundings because of their ability to negotiate uneven surfaces in a smoother fashion. A lot of mining or agricultural operations and construction sites rely on these tires to be able to make sure the machine could travel as carefully and safe as possible.

Lift height and Lift Capacity
It is vital to know the maximum weight and dimensions of the loads you will be handling in order to determine the capacity of the vehicle needed. Also, you must know the maximum fork height required so as to rack or stack the loads. These factors, the load size as well as the lifting height, greatly affect the lift capacity of the truck. A bigger size load could move the center of gravity of the vehicle and change the load combination. This decreases the machine's lifting capacity as well as affects the load being lifted and the height. Utilizing different kinds of attachments could also affect the truck's overall capacity.

Mast Options
There are a lot of different choices of masts available on the market. Like for example, there are quad, triple, double or single, the numbers indicate how many sections or stages the mast has. In a variety of circumstances, you will not be needed to make any choices because the lift height will dictate the kind of mast you will get, although, in trucks with very high lift heights, you can have a choice.
